Welcome to Zambia! Upon arrival at the Lusaka International Airport, your guide will assist you with any baggage after immigration and customs. You will then take a domestic flight to Mfuwe Airport in South Luangwa. Once you arrive in South Luangwa, you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the Lion Camp. Lion Camp’s location is one of its greatest assets, the game-viewing from the decks in front of the camp is some of the best you will see whilst on safari!

South Luangwa National Park

Considered as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, South Luangwa is the best park in Zambia and one of the most majestic in Africa. The 9,050-sq km park is centered around the Luangwa River and is home to one of Africa's largest concentrations of wildlife from herds of buffaloes, pride of lions and the highest density of leopards in the world. The animals may be less used to vehicles and slightly harder to find, but there are fewer visitors in these areas and watching the wildlife is immensely rewarding.

Lion Camp Activities

Lion Camp is located in the northern reaches of South Luangwa National Park; an area which offers abundant game viewing and excellent photographic opportunities. The game viewing around Lion Camp is some of the best in the entire park – highly rated by guests, guides and filmmakers. While in the Lion Camp, experience many activities such as visiting the Leadwood forest, large Ebony groves, spectacular Mahogany & Sausage Trees and the amazingly spectacular Baobab forest. Join in the walking safaris that happen morning and evening! It is genuinely breath-taking to stride out into the bush with your guide and scout where you are on the same footing as wild animals. Here you will experience the sense of time and space as the animals. Or, take advantage and take stunning photos with the help of a naturalist and accomplished wildlife photographer!

After a relaxing morning with wildlife, you will be picked up at Lion Camp and transferred to Mapazi Camp for your next adventure! On your short drive to Mapazi, sit back and enjoy an abundance of beauty and wildlife. Upon arrival, check-in and start immersing yourself in one of the most special bush camp experiences!

Mapazi Camp Activities

Mapazi Camp is situated in a remote and undisturbed corner of South Luangwa National Park – one of the most iconic wildlife sanctuaries in the world. Although your adventure must come to an end today, you will be leaving with new friends, amazing experiences and memories to cherish for the rest of your life. Once you have checked out the Mapazi Camp, you will be met by your driver and transferred to the Mfuwe airport for your flight back to Lusaka. Upon arrival, you will board your international departure flight.
