We specialize in creating sustainable and authentic travel experiences focused on minimizing our environmental footprint and maximizing interaction with local cultures. Our travel planning is customized to each individual, couple, or family/group, ensuring a one-of-a-kind journey. We regularly travel to our specialized destinations to research activities, cuisines, and services, and to discover new offerings to help make your trips even more memorable.
How do you support local communities through sustainable travel?
At Global Basecamps, we carefully select local partners committed to the community and environment. We make sure that our guides, porters, and local service providers are paid a fair wage, which both supports the local economy and helps us maintain the best available services. A portion of our profits is also re-invested into the communities we visit, often supporting local initiatives like educational programs, conservation efforts, and infrastructure improvements.
Are all your trips private?
Most of our trips are private, customized itineraries, which allows our specialists to create the perfect trip to fit your needs. However, we offer a few select small group tours, which you can find here: Small Group Offerings.
What is included in your travel packages? What type of trips do you arrange?
Our tailor-made and custom trips include all accommodations, transportation within the destination, breakfasts at your accommodation, guided tours, activities, and 24/7 support from our team. Other inclusions will vary depending on the trip customization, which you can discuss with your Specialist during the planning process. International flights are not typically included in the cost of our trips.
How are your travel packages priced? Do you provide price breakdowns?
Your Travel Specialist will discuss your budget at the beginning of the planning process. Having a realistic budget in mind ensures the best planning experience. You can see “from” pricing noted on our sample itineraries on our website. Pricing varies depending on the specifics of the trip, including seasonality, destination, length, activities, and accommodations.
Who will be helping me plan my trip?
Our Sales Team has 65+ years of combined travel planning experience and are highly regarded experts in their specialty destinations. We’re also travelers who are passionate about exploring our world!
What does the trip planning process look like?
One of our Travel Specialists will contact you by phone or email to discuss your trip. They will ask questions to better understand your trip goals, travel style, and other details to help personalize your itinerary. After determining the ideal routing and inclusions, your Specialist will develop a full proposal, a process that can take from a few days up to two weeks. We will send you an initial proposal for your review, feedback, questions, or changes. Your itinerary is flexible until the time of deposit. Once you make a deposit, we will begin the confirmation process.
Do you have a planning fee?
While we do not have a planning fee, a deposit may be requested if we have made multiple itinerary versions and are further along in the process.
Are there change fees after booking?
If you are adding services or days to the trip, there is usually no change fee. But if you are making significant changes to your itinerary after booking (e.g., change of dates that require rebooking aspects of your trip) you may be charged a fee.
What is your cancellation policy?

We would like to include a destination in our itinerary that is not on your website. Can you do that?
Please ask your Travel Specialist if there is an area you’re hoping to visit that is not on our site. We are always researching new destinations but do not always have them built out on our website. We may be able to help. Ready to get started?
