Day Trip to Lake Bled

One of Slovenia’s most famous destinations, Lake Bled is renowned for its stunning Alpine scenery, thermal springs with purported healing powers, and fairytale-like church and castle. This morning, your guide will drive you from Bohinj to Bled to tour the area on foot. You'll have the chance to walk around the lake and up to a scenic overlook while learning about Bled and its history from your guide. The walk takes about four hours and is of easy to moderate difficulty.

The afternoon is yours to explore on your own. You can take a boat to Bled Island, visit Bled Castle, take a dip in the lake, or relax along the shoreline while sipping a coffee and enjoying Bled’s famous cream cake. In the evening, your guide will drive you back to Bohinj (a 30-minute drive) for dinner.

Today it’s time to bid farewell to Slovenia and make our way to Croatia. Your guide will pick you up in the morning at your hotel. A 3-hour drive will take you from the Alps to the Adriatic coast to the charming seaside town of Rovinj. Rovinj to Motovun: Hiking Ucka Mountain

This morning, we say goodbye to Rovinj and head inland to explore another side of the Istrian peninsula. On this half-day hiking excursion in U?ka Nature Park, your guide will lead you to the summit of Vojak Peak, the highest point on the peninsula. On a clear day, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Kvarner Bay and the Velebit mountain range. The hike is about three hours and is considered easy to moderate. Evening Walking Tour

In the early evening, meet your guide and take a stroll through the Old Town Motovun, where you’ll have the chance to walk along the historic defense walls and admire the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Motovun

The hilltop town of Motovun is one of inland Istria’s finest gems. A medieval town sitting atop a hill, take in the unique picturesque views this area has to offer, whether from atop the town itself or in the Mirna River valley below. Its astonishingly preserved architecture, ancient city walls and central square make it a travelers dreamscape, and here is also famous for hosting the annual Motovun Film Festival, attracting film enthusiasts from around the world. If you're seeking charm, cultural richness and divine cuisine (truffles!), look no further than Motovun.

Istrian Countryside Bike Tour

Today, explore the Istrian countryside by bike! E-bikes are available by request and make Istria's hilly terrain more manageable, though mountain bikes are an option as well for an extra challenge. Your route is customizable and selected according to your preferences. One option, a 31-mile route, takes you on a winding trip through Istria’s vineyards, olive groves, forests, and medieval hillside villages, including Oprtalj and Groznjan. The route also features a beautiful section of the Parenzana, a historic railroad bed that’s now open to hikers and cyclists. You’ll pedal over stone bridges and through tunnels as you wind your way back down to the Mirna River Valley, enjoying gorgeous views of Istria’s rolling green hills along the way. Plitvice Lakes Hiking Tour

This morning, check out of your hotel and embark on the 3.5-hour drive to Croatia’s Lika region, where we’ll visit the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features a stunning series of lakes and waterfalls in enchanting shades of blue and green. Your guide will take you on a 5-6 hour tour of the park, where you’ll have the chance to walk along Plitvice’s footpaths and wooden bridges and take a short boat ride on one of the lakes. As you explore, you'll experience the park's diverse flora and fauna, including rare bird species and endemic plants. (This service is on a private basis.)

After the park visit, your guide will take you to your hotel just outside the park. You’ll have some free time to relax or explore the hotel’s amenities before we meet for one last dinner together, where we can share our favorite memories and experiences from the trip.
