Tiberias is a beautiful holy city located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. It is home to many Christian pilgrimages as well as a booming economy, ever-growing city, and beaches, and history. You can find the most sacred of places and people while still experiencing the more modern and less religious aspects.

You will have the opportunity to visit the Yigal Alon center, where the “Jesus Boat,” an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century, is displayed. Ascend to Mt. Beatitudes, where Jesus gave the “Sermon on the Mount.” Continue to Capernaum, known as “The Town of Jesus,” visit the synagogue and Peter’s house. Take a lunch break tasting a delicious St. Peters fish lunch (own expense). Next, stop by Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of Fish and Loaves, and visit the Church of Multiplication with its 4th-century mosaic floor. Next, travel to Masada and take a cable car up to the fortress. Submerge yourself in the history of the famous Jewish fortification, the places built by King Herod, the synagogue, and the bathhouses used by the Jewish people. Jerusalem is totally unique – there is no other place like it. A city of tradition, religion, and history, but also, increasingly, of modern culture and heritage, it is a city with so much to offer that you could spend years here and still not see everything. Long an object of veneration and conflict, the holy city of Jerusalem has been governed, both as a provincial town and a national capital, by an extended series of dynasties and states. In the early 20th century the city, along with all of historic Palestine, became the focus of the competing national aspirations of Zionists and Palestinian Arabs.
After breakfast, you will go up to Mt. of Olives, a cemetery that once was covered in olive groves. You will have a magnificent panoramic view of Jerusalem. Then, head on over to Bethlehem to see the Church of Nativity located at Manger Square. You will also get to see an overview of the Judean Desert and Shepherd's Field.
The morning, visit Israel’s official memorial to the Holocaust, Yad Vashem, located on Mt. Herzl. Next, drive past The Knesset and the Israeli Supreme Court, on your way to the Israel Museum. Israel’s national museum is home to the Dead Sea Scrolls and a model of the Second Temple. Continue the day with an exciting tour of the Mahane Yehuda Marketplace (Shuk) were you can submerge yourself in all of the colors and unique flavors of Jerusalem. Experience a glimpse of the everyday life of an Israeli.
The beautiful Garden of Gethsemane awaits! Today, experience the place where Jesus prayed, and his disciples slept the night before his crucifixion. Next, make your way to Mt. Zion, where you will visit David's tomb and the site of the Last Supper ("Upper Room"). Continue to the Christian Quarter, where you will visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where Jesus was crucified. From there, walk where Jesus walked and make your way down Via Dolorosa (Stations of the Cross). Next, take a short trip to The Cardo, the main street in the Old City, when Judea was under Roman rule. You will also get to go down to the Western Wall and spend some time in reflection and prayer.
Explore the city on a walking tour and discover the city of David and its fascinating archaeological excavations. Visit the Archaeological Park Davidson Center and enrich yourself with the ancient history of Mt. Temple. Proceed to explore the Southern Wall excavations and learn about the Robinson Arch, the ritual bath, and get a glimpse of the era gone-by.
Enjoy your free day to explore the beautiful city and its rich and intriguing culture on your own. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the wonderful museums and the magnificent historical sites of the city.
