Later this afternoon around 3:00pm, venture to Borobudur! It predates Angkor Wat by 300 years and Notre Dame by 200 years. Rediscovered in 1815, it has been excavated and returned to its original glory. The stone relief panels offer a clear glimpse into Buddhist doctrine and Javanese life 1,000 years ago. Here you will spend the afternoon hours exploring this fabulous complex. Remain at Borobudur for the sunset, when it is typically closed to the public. (This service is on a private basis.)
Enjoy a relaxing morning before checking out and departing on the approximately hour-long drive to Yogyakarta, also known as "Jogja", and the cultural and spiritual nucleus of Java. Once in Yogyakarta, visit Kraton. This walled compound is the heart of the old part of the city and was once the palace of Yogyakarta's sultans. Also, visit the ruins of Taman Sari, the Water Palace, which was a pleasure park for the sultans.
Next, explore Jalan Tirtodipuran, a leafy street filled with antique shops and art galleries and the Kota Gede district of Yogyakarta, the original capital of the Mataram kingdom, the great 16th- century Muslim kingdom which held sway over most of Java, until the Dutch arrived. The city was founded by the first sultan of Mataram, Panembahan Senopati, in 1582. If interested, visit the Sono Budoyo Museum with its excellent collection of Javanese masks, textiles, and puppets. Also, if interested, visit some of the local craft markets and textile studios for which the city is famous.
Before driving to your hotel, we will drive to visit the Prambanan Temple complex. This Hindu temple city was built between the 8th and 10th centuries to honor Shiva and it complements the Buddhist temple city of Borobudur, some 40kms away. (This service is on a private basis.)
Meet your guide early this morning at 5:30am and drive to the Yogyakarta Airport to catch your onward flight to Labuan Bajo.

Early this morning you will leave by private speed boat to Komodo Island, the larger of the two islands, where you will also hike with a ranger to see the legendary dragons. After the tour, you will have time to visit Pantai Merah, a beautiful pink beach that is home to a stunning coral reel, rich in marine life.
Return to Labuan Bajo with a stop at Kalong or flying foxes island. Every evening thousands of fruit bats head out in search of their food to the nearby island of Flores. (This service is on a private basis.)
This morning you will journey by boat to Manta Point. Also known locally as Karang Makassar, Manta Point is a spot where manta rays are often encountered. It is one of the popular places for diving and also snorkeling for those who hope to see these huge marine creatures that can grow up to 6 meters wide. Though they are massive in size, they are considered a non-dangerous sea animal. Divers or marine life lovers are trying to protect mantas from illegal fishing practices.?
Continue to Padard Island. On arrival, you'll trek to the hill for the one of the best views in Komodo Park. Padar Island is the third largest island in Komodo National Park. It is located in the south central part of the park, between Komodo and Rinca Island.(This service is on a private basis.)
After breakfasts, you will be transferred to Labuan Bajo Airport for your domestic flight back to Lombok via Denpasar.

Towards the north coast of Lombok, you will find the Gili-islands. These are the bounty islands from paradise! Beautiful white beaches, crystal clear blue seas, and a colorful coral reef stretching for a few kilometers starting right off the beach.
During this boat trip program, you first transfer to the mainland harbor, where you will board a boat that is yours for the rest of the day. This is an ideal way to find the most beautiful snorkeling spots. After some snorkeling, you enjoy lunch at a restaurant on one of the islands. You then return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
