Rio de Janeiro

The inhabitants of Rio de Janeiro call it the “Marvelous City.” Located on the Bay of Guanabara, Rio has a mountainous landscape that contrasts with an intensely blue sea. Here, the skyscrapers, colonial buildings and narrow streets meld in perfect harmony. Although the city is a reflection of the social inequalities of the country, Rio de Janeiro has great style and is internationally renowned for its Christ Corcovado, Pao d’Açúcar, Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, and the warm and lively inhabitants of the city, the cariocas.

Vida Carioca Experience

During this half day excursion, you will have the chance to catch a glimpse of the authentic lifestyle of the "Cariocas", the people who call Rio their home. Your tour will begin with a walk to the nearest metro station, where you will take the subway and travel for 15 minutes. As you walk along the bustling streets, you will visit the historic and commercial center of Rio, highlighting the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian and the Saara neighborhood. You will have the opportunity to observe the customs, commerce and joy of the Carioca people. Stop along the way to try a delicious natural juice made with tropical fruits, the perfect refreshment as you explore.

Included in today's tour will be a tasty lunch at Confeitaria Colombo, which is one of the oldest and most historic restaurants in all of Brazil. You will be returned to your hotel, via another local subway ride. (This service is on a private basis.)

Sugarloaf Mountain & City Tour

Your guide will meet you at the hotel this morning, to begin your panoramic city tour. Start your outing with a visit to the Maracana, the most popular soccer stadium in the world, before continuing on to the Sambadrome. This is an area specially built for the extravagant parade of samba schools, that perform every year during Carnival. You will pass through Rio's financial center, a mix of modern and colonial styles, with a short stop to admire the famous Cathedral of San Sebastian as well.

After exploring the city streets, you will proceed to the Sugarloaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar) lookout, which boasts the best 360 degree views of Rio de Janeiro. Taking a trip up and down the Mountain in a traditional cable car railway, will reward you with an unforgettable birds eye view of the city and it's incredible skyline. Following your Sugarloaf adventure, you will have the unique opportunity for a short 15 minute helicopter overflight. This spectacular perspective should not be missed! At the end of your tour, you will be taken for lunch at the Fogo de Chao Restaurant, for a delicious taste of the local cuisine, before you are returned to your hotel.

Half Day Brazilian Falls Tour

Iguacu National Park, established in 1939, houses the largest enduring Atlantic forest in all of southern Brazil. The park protects a rich biodiversity, consisting of representative species of Brazilian fauna and flora. Today, you will have the chance to visit the traditional walkways and admire the impressive panoramic view of the Brazilian side of the majestic waterfalls. The total length of the runway is 1200 meters, from where you will be able to appreciate and soak up the vast size and magnitude of the 275 waterfalls that make up the Iguacu Falls. The most important of the falls on the Brazilian side are Floriano, Deodoro da Fonseca, Benjamin Constant and Salto União, or the Devil's Throat. Foz do Iguacu

The Iguacu River wriggles in a western direction for 600 km, soaking up the waters of dozens of tributaries along the way. The river widens and flows majestically through thriving forests, before descending into the various levels of the famous Iguacu waterfalls. Foz do Iguacu is located in southern Brazil, near the border of Paraguay and Argentina. They are made up of 275 falls, some up to 80 meters high of rushing water! The 1,000 meter foot bridge on the Argentinian side will lead you to the largest of the falls, La Garganta de Diablo, the Devil's Throat. You can hike the trails on the Argentinean side or the Brazilian side, both of which angles offer exceptional views. There are neither words nor photographs that can properly describe the falls, you simply have to see and hear them for yourself!

Full Day Argentina Falls Tour

Recognized among the seven natural wonders of the world, today you will have the chance to marvel at Iguacu Falls from the Argentina side. They are the most visited natural attraction in the province of Misiones and one of the most impressive waterfalls in the entire world. Fauna found in this sub-tropical region includes more than 400 species of birds, thousands of multicolored butterfly species and endangered animals, such as the jaguar, and Tapir. Walking paths will lead you all around the different gateways of the National Park, allowing for you to appreciate the picturesque scenery from a number of perspectives. The lower circuit offers more contact with nature, while the upper circuit provides an overview of all the jumps and the delta islands, as well as an impressive view of the Devil's Throat, where you can feel the fury of water rushing together in many horseshoe shaped falls. Grand Adventure Speedboat Tour

The Grand Adventure boat tour combines the essence of the Iguacu's jungle and falls in a single ride! Entering the jungle through the Yacaratia narrow track, you will get to observe the natural and cultural riches of this sub-tropical forest. A short drive will take you to the forest base Puerto Macuco, from where you will descend stairs 100 meters down to the riverside dock. At the dock, you will board a motor boat that leads you through the Canyon and rapids of the Iguacu River.

After enjoying the view from the calm side of San Martin Island, cruise to the “Tres Mosqueteros” waterfall. From here, both the Brazilian and Argentinean sides, as well as the Devil's Throat, can be clearly viewed and appreciated. Continue sailing along the shore of the island, until reaching the most exciting part of the adventure...coming face to face with the breathtaking San Martin waterfall! During your stay at the Cristalino Jungle Lodge, you will be ensured an unforgettable and exotic experience in Alta Floresta. In order to protect the forest, only 2 hectares out of the original area of 700 hectares, were used for the construction of the property. Lodge Activities

Throughout your stay at the Cristalino Lodge, you will have the opportunity to take part in different activities within the Cristalino Natural Heritage Forest Reserve. Pass the time participating on daily explorations trips accompanied by a local English speaking guide, with all necessary equipment included. The half-day tours take place every morning and afternoon, giving plenty of options to fill your schedule.

The activities on offer include canoeing, hiking trails, visits to the observation towers, fauna & flora viewings and boat trips. You can also choose to combine more than one activity in a single tour, such as canoeing and hiking. Sometimes, you may have to follow the trails in order to reach an attraction, such as the Observation Towers, and many trails are only accessible by boat, so your excursions may also be decided by default.

To understand the city, you need to immerse in its rhythm. The constant pace is not only the stampede of those who work and study there, the area is effervescent, lively and subject to all kinds of inhabitants. There will always be something new to be discovered. In the economic capital of the country, you will quickly find that there is plenty to see and do. The options of culture, commerce and cuisine in Sampa alone, compare to the most crowded international regions elsewhere.

City Tour

Today, you will head out for a city tour through the old downtown of Sao Paulo. Along the way, you will be able to immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of the local lifestyle, with a one hour stop at the lively Municipal Market. Stroll the stalls, admire the colorful produce and feel like a true local. Your excursion will also include visits to the Praca da Republica, Rua da Consolacao, Bairro de Higienopolis, Estadio do Pacaembu and Hospital das Clinicas, for a spectacular panoramic view of the city. Your guide will then lead you the new center of Sao Paulo, which offers the beautiful Paulista Avenue and the neighborhoods Jardim Paulista, Jardim America and Europa. Your final stop of the tour will be at the massive Ibirapuera Park, great for people watching! At the end of your exploration, you will be returned to the hotel.
