Welcome to Botswana! Upon arrival at the Kasane airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred directly to the Chobe Game Lodge to begin your adventure! The Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent game lodge situated within the famous Chobe National Park and the perfect base from which to explore the National Park and the Chobe River.

Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park features one of the largest concentrations of game in all of Africa. Located in Northern Botswana, it was the country's first National Park and is now the third largest in size and most biologically diverse. For these reasons, Chobe is an essential bucket list destination, while on safari in Botswana. The Chobe floodplains and Chobe River provide a sensitive ecosystem, where the wildlife concentrate during the dry season. It is not uncommon to see between 500 and 5,000 elephants on these floodplains at one time! Between the combination of wildlife, bird life and reptiles that are scattered along the banks of the Chobe River, this National Park is a photographer's dream.

Lodge Activities

Chobe Game Lodge offers an exciting variety of land or water-based activities in the Chobe National Park. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are conducted by expert guides in open-sided 4x4 vehicles, to ensure maximum visibility of the park's spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Meanwhile, riverside game viewing may be done from small and highly maneuverable boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises. Chobe's diverse wildlife roams in abundance and is even home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. During the dry season, these large herds, as well as herds of buffalo, congregate on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and play. There are frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope as well.

Between safari activities, cool off in the pool or keep an eye out for elephants, hippos and other wildlife that are regularly seen from the lodge. Being the only lodge in the reserve, you will have the benefit of exclusivity before the park gates open to the public. Your fully inclusive stay covers all meals, local brand drinks, two scheduled safari activities daily, National Park fees and laundry. Premium imported wines, champagnes and spirits are excluded.

After a final early morning in the Chobe National Park, it will be time to pack up your things. At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the The Elephant Camp to begin the final leg of your adventure. The camp is set on a private concession with spectacular views of the mist rising over the majestic Victoria Falls and the steeply carved gorges of the Zambezi River. Elephant Back Safari

After some time to freshen up, you will be transferred to the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, which is situated within the Victoria Falls National Park. Here, you will find that a strong emphasis is placed on an Elephant experience, rather than just an Elephant ride. Throughout the day, you are encouraged to interact with the gentle giants to gain a better insight into the history and the long term objectives of the Wild Horizons Sanctuary. This recognized elephant sanctuary began with only 4 young orphaned elephants, who were moved to Wild Horizons in 1997 as a result of culling operations in the National Parks. The herd has now grown to 23 animals, all of which are either orphaned or have been born within the herd.

After a thorough introductory briefing, you mount up and ride the elephant for 45 minutes to an hour, as they follow ancient game trails along the banks of the Masuie River and head toward the magnificent Batoka Gorge. From this elevated vantage point, you may be fortunate enough to see a variety of resident wildlife. If you are on the morning safari, your excursion will be concluded with breakfast at the Wallow, and if you are on the afternoon safari, drinks and snacks will be offered there instead. The mid morning safaris are only operated in the cooler winter months. (This service is on a group basis.)

Victoria Falls

The enchanting Victoria Falls features the largest sheet of falling water on earth. This mesmerizing spectacle is something that simply cannot be missed on an authentic discovery of Africa. The sheer mass of water cascading down the 100 meter drop across nearly 2 kilometers, generates a thunderous roar and a magnificent spray of water that can be seen for miles. This world renowned attraction promises to captivate you from your very first glimpse of the "smoke that thunders".

Camp Activities

Victoria Falls is one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles. Declared a World Heritage Site, this attraction embodies the spirit of legends, romance and myths. The Elephant Camp is an intimate luxury lodge, which invites you to experience the best of the area. The property is set on a private concession, from where you can admire the mist rising over the majestic Victoria Falls and the steeply carved gorges of the Zambezi River.

Within easy reach of Victoria Falls, yet secluded on its own game reserve, the camp offers a variety of community and conservation focused activities. These excursions include sundowners at Batoka Gorge, birding and nature walks on the concession, a visit to the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, village tour, guided tour of the Falls, an elephant encounter, mountain bike rides through Victoria Falls National Park, unguided cycling through town and a Victoria Falls canopy tour. Your fully inclusive rate covers all meals, local brand drinks, a complimentary in room mini bar, lunch & drinks at the Lookout Café, return Victoria Falls & Livingstone airport transfers, shuttle transfer into Victoria Falls town and laundry services.

Sadly, your journey through the Botswana and Zimbabwe must come to an end today. However, you will be leaving with unforgettable memories and the experience of a lifetime! Soak up your last morning at the camp. Once you have checked out of The Elephant Camp, you will be transferred to the Victoria Falls Airport in good time to board your departure flight.
